OxRock films have won several awards and accolades (SunDeis '05, Cloud 9 Film Fest, etc.), and have been featured in film festivals, websites and even as in-flight movies. OxRock Productions continues to expand, striving to achieve its primary objective: to constantly create and inspire the next generation of cinema. |
Introducing: Rising above the constraints of low budgets OxRock Consulting, a division of OxRock Productions, is committed to thoroughly reviewing and understanding your pre-production materials from the outset. Based on our careful study of your plans and materials, we can begin by giving general feedback on what we believe to be your project’s main strengths and weaknesses. Depending on your needs, we can then delve deeper to make targeted recommendations about your specific pre-production plans and materials, and even spearhead the revision or creation of those materials ourselves. Our services are priced to fit into even the most limited budgets. Our goal is to make your financial resources go further. |
About the Founder
![]() |
There are some things that Arnon Shorr does which are irrelevant to his productions. He builds sand castles, juggles, plays lots of different musical instruments very poorly, and swing-dances. He reserves the occasional long walk on the beach for his wife, who, amazingly, encourages his filmmaking ambitions. Arnon first developed an interest in films when he was ten years old, and when nobody offered to teach him how to make movies, he did it himself, becoming 'that kid with the video camera' in high school. As a college student at Brandeis University, when no one would offer to screen his films, Arnon created his own screenings, which eventually transformed in to The SunDeis Student Film Festival. Arnon graduated from Brandeis with a major in Film Studies (which the university does not offer). When no one would give Arnon a film job, he founded OxRock Productions, through which he produces and directs fiction and non-fiction shorts and features. Arnon earned enough to buy a muffin for lunch by teaching film and media stuff at his former high school (now called Gann Academy), and at Newbury College. In his occasional spare evening, Arnon enjoys watching films and writing about them at Musing Pictures, a blog he created when no one would publish his writing. Arnon lives happily with his (omegosh, she actually said 'yes!') wife in Baltimore, Maryland, where he's finding ways to keep himself gainfully employed while his wife takes med-school by storm. He is still making movies. |
