Prolific composer, hyperspeed finisher, decorated performer, and maker of the best ribeye steak east of the Mississippi, Bob Lord (b. 1976) has enjoyed a wild ride since picking up the bass guitar more than 17 years ago. A sought-after composer and producer of audio and score for film, tv, gaming, and multimedia, Bob has worked on a wide variety of projects, including the Cannes and NY Film Festival entry MARILYN'S MAN (Valhalla Productions/Universal), the SunDeis award-winning short THAT OLD SILENT FILM (OxRock Productions), and FLYING DOWNHILL (Coruway Film Institute), the feature documentary on Olympic medallist Bode Miller. His first solo record, AUDIO FOR FILM TV & GAMES, was released in 2005 by Red Fez Records. As a founding member of the renowned award-winning trio Dreadnaught, Bob has toured the United States extensively and produced 5 full-length albums for 3 international record labels; the group's most recent release, the epic double disc LIVE AT MOJO (Comet Records), is earning rave reviews from all corners of the globe, including a 4-star notice from the All Music Guide. Bob has also toured with Capitol Records artist Thanks to Gravity, Americana artist Ed Jurdi, and shared a stage with John Entwistle (The Who), NRBQ, and The California Guitar Trio, among others. In 2001, Bob co-founded the indie label Red Fez Records with Jeff Feinberg (Converge); the label has released a string of acclaimed albums by artists such as Museum of Science, Ed Jurdi, Tractor Trailer, The Screen, Tess Walsh, Mr. Vertigo, and more. APPLES & ORANGES VOL.1, the first Red Fez compilation, was ranked as the 4th best comp of the last decade by Jam Music Magazine. Red Fez artists were nominated for four 2005 Spotlight Awards, with wins in "Best Rock Band" (Dreadnaught) and "Best Jazz Band" (Amorphous Band). In addition, Bob is co-manager of the classical label MMC Recordings, flagship of the renowned American composer William Thomas McKinley (student of Aaron Copland and Gunther Schuller, collaborator of Richard Stoltzman, Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz, and Miroslav Vitous); the label has produced over 200 orchestral recordings of modern classical compositions with the London Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, Boston Modern Orchestra, and Warsaw Symphony. Bob's upcoming projects include composition jobs for film and tv, performing with Dreadnaught for the New Hampshire Public Radio/Music Hall series "Writers On A New England Stage," new studio recordings with Dreadnaught. |
